Revised Yemen travel advice (11/04/2008)

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has changed its travel advice for Yemen. Due to the deteriorating security situation we now advise against all but essential travel to Yemen. The relevant summary now reads:

"We advise against all but essential travel to Yemen. There have been a series of recent terrorist attacks both inside and outside the capital, Sana’a, including against the US embassy on 18 March, expatriate accommodation on 6 April and an oil company headquarters on 9 April. There is a high threat from terrorism in general in Yemen, including against Western, and British, interests. You should be particularly vigilant in public places frequented by expatriates and foreigner travellers. We believe that terrorists continue to plan attacks. See the Terrorism section of this advice for more details."
