The aim of this guide is to help Members of Parliament and their staff when they are faced with issues related toforced marriage. It offers background on the issue and gives suggestions of best practice for supporting victims and dealing with their families. It gives details of the Government’s Forced Marriage Unit (FMU) and of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that can offer help and advice and also gives contact details of UK Embassies/High Commissions overseas.
