Travel advice for this country
Health
The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which has now replaced the E111 form, does not provide health cover in Andorra. It is therefore essential that you have comprehensive travel and medical insurance cover from a 'Bona Fide' company that is valid for travel to NON-EU countries. Skiers and those persons participating in sports such as rafting should ensure that their insurance policy covers this activity. For more general information see
EHIC.
You should be aware that, on rare occasions, the consumption of alcohol combined with low temperatures and high altitude can be fatal.
You should exercise normal precautions to avoid exposure to HIV/AIDS. For more general information on how to do this see
HIV and AIDS.
You should seek medical advice before travelling to Andorra and ensure that all appropriate vaccinations are up to date. For further information on vaccination requirements, health outbreaks and general disease protection and prevention you should visit the websites of the National Travel Health Network and Centre (
NaTHNaC) and
NHS Scotland's Fit For Travel or call NHS Direct on 0845 46 47.
