Foreign Office Minister Chris Bryant has called for a peaceful and constructive dialogue to ensure that constitutional government is returned to Honduras at the earliest possible time. He said:

"Following President Zelaya’s return to Tegucigalpa, I would like to add my voice to the international calls that both sides refrain from any action that could lead to an increase in tension and violence in Honduras. To that end, we condemn today's decision by the Honduran Security Forces to move the peaceful demonstrators outside the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa.

What is most important at this time, is that this both sides look for opportunities for a peaceful and constructive dialogue - with the ultimate objective of returning Honduras to constitutional government at the earliest possible time."
