Change of Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Russian Federation
Mr Tim Barrow CMG LVO MBE has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Russian Federation.
He will succeed Dame Anne Fyfe Pringle DCMG. Mr Barrow will take up his appointment during November 2011.
Tim Barrow joined the FCO in 1986 and has held a wide range of posts doing both bilateral and multilateral work, including postings to Moscow, Brussels (to the European Union), and Kiev. He was most recently the UK Representative to the Political and Security Committee of the EU and, before that, Ambassador to Ukraine.
On his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Mr Barrow said:
“I am very pleased to be returning to Russia. I have good memories of working in Moscow in the early 90s. I look forward to getting to know again this vast and dynamic country and to continuing the steady work of developing relations between our two countries”.
