Foreign Secretary meets Julian Castro, Mayor of San Antonio

The Foreign Secretary: "Mayor Castro’s visit to London showcases the best of the transatlantic relationship. It has strengthened our ties with San Antonio, the US’s seventh largest city, and helped promote our mutual prosperity."

On 20 November, the Foreign Secretary met Julian Castro, Mayor of San Antonio. During his two day visit to London, Mayor Castro visited Tech City with an accompanying trade delegation and also gave a speech at the London School of Economics on US leadership in the 21st Century.

After their meeting, the Foreign Secretary said, “Mayor Castro’s visit to London showcases the best of the transatlantic relationship. It has strengthened our ties with San Antonio, the US’s seventh largest city, and helped promote our mutual prosperity. Three hundred British companies are already located in Texas and, by increasing our cooperation on energy and high-tech in particular, our ambition is to enhance our cooperation on economic development even further over the coming years.
