Following the attacks today in Somalia, Mark Simmonds, Foreign Office Minister for Africa, said:

“The British Government condemns in the strongest terms the attacks which occurred today in Mogadishu and killed at least 14 people. My thoughts are with the families of the victims and those injured. The perpetrators have demonstrated that they have no respect for the lives of ordinary Somalis. These attacks only strengthen our determination to continue supporting the Somali people as they seek to build a secure and stable future.”
