FCO Minister comments on World Trade Organisation talks

Foreign Office Minister David Lidington commented today on discussions about Russia's accession to the World Trade Organisation.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The Minister said:

“We welcome the progress that Russia and Georgia have made in the context of their discussions on Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organisation. We commend the work of the Swiss mediators and the continued efforts of all parties to reach an agreement.

“We reiterate our full support for Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organisation and hope that the Russian authorities will soon join Georgia in agreeing the latest Swiss proposals.”
