Foreign Office Minister expresses concern over an Israel Defence Forces operation

Minister for the Middle East Alistair Burt has urged restraint after an Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) operation in Qalandiya refugee camp killed two Palestinians and injured a number of Israeli soldiers.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Commenting on the IDF operation on 1 August the Foreign Office Minister said:

“I am concerned about the incident which took place in Qalandiya refugee camp yesterday in which two Palestinians were killed during an IDF operation. The circumstances leading to these two deaths needs to be fully investigated. I urge both sides to exercise restraint and avoid inflammatory actions such as this.”
