How we are organised

This is a simple overview of how our press office is organised to help direct you to the right people.

News desk

The News desk are the first point of contact for all media enquiries, including breaking news stories and planned announcements. The team also deals with media interview bids.

Press teams

The Press Office is led by the Head of News who is also the Press Secretary to the Foreign Secretary.

The Head of News and Chief Press Officer manage the FCO's press teams. Teams are organised along geographical lines and ministerial responsibilities.  

Arab & South Asian media

The team consists of UK based Arabic, Farsi and Urdu spokespeople; an Arabic spokesperson in the Middle East, and an Arab media specialist. The remit of the team is to deliver messages through the Arab, Asian and Muslim media both in the UK and overseas.  

International media

The press office has a team who co-ordinate and liaise with international media based in the UK.  

Planning and operations

This team consists of strategic forward planner, an operations manager, events manager, media monitor and press office support.
