Britain’s values in a networked world

Foreign Secretary William Hague's speech: Britain's values in a networked worldOur work is based on the principles of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights and other human rights treaties that provide the international human rights framework.

We run programmes and projects and work with international organisations such as the UN and with other countries.

On 15 September 2010, Foreign Secretary William Hague delivered a major foreign policy speech on "Britain's values in a networked world".

He said, "There will be no downgrading of human rights under this Government and no resiling from our commitments to aid and development. Indeed I intend to improve and strengthen our human rights work".
