The UK has responsibility for providing reconstruction and development and extending security throughout the southern Afghan province of Helmand. The UK is operating as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), Regional Command (South), along with other ISAF partners.
The UK is committed to delivering on these responsibilites, and supporting the Afghan Government extend development, security and the rule of law across the province. That is why the UK has deployed sizeable cross-governmental civilian and military resources to deliver these objectives.
