There are 12 Commonwealth countries in the Caribbean:
- Antigua & Barbuda
- Bahamas
- Barbados
- Belize
- Dominica
- Grenada
- Guyana
- Jamaica
- Saint Kitts & Nevis
- Saint Lucia
- St Vincent & the Grenadines
- Trinidad & Tobago
Britain has strong and friendly links with these countries, forged over years of history and shared experiences.
Family ties and shared language and culture mean that the Caribbean is very popular with British holiday makers - with around 1m British nationals visiting the region each year.
There is also good contact between Governments, especially through the UK-Caribbean Forum, which was set up to strengthen the close relationship that exists between the UK and Caribbean countries.
Every 2 years Foreign Ministers and senior officials from the Caribbean nations meet UK Ministers to agree our joint objectives on key issues of concern for the region and the UK and review progress.
