Summer Development Programme

The Summer Development Programme is organised by the Cabinet Office and aims to give talented individuals from black or minority ethnic backgrounds an experience of the Civil Service.

The placement is the longest that we offer - lasting six weeks - in order to give students the opportunity to engage in longer project based work. Candidates should expect to get real experience of working with senior staff and will attend real FCO events.

The scheme is open to UK nationals from black and minority ethnic backgrounds, in compliance with Section 37 (Positive Action) of the Race Relation Act 1976.  Candidates must also possess a minimum 2:2 expected or awarded degree.

For full details of application windows and entry criteria, please visit the Summer Development Programme website.
