Terms of ReferenceAudit and Risk Committee

The Audit and Risk Committee supports the Board in its delivery of the policies and services decided by Ministers. The ARC assists the Permanent Under-Secretary (as Accounting Officer) and the Board in their respective responsibilities for issues of risk, control and governance.

Change Committee

The Change Committee works to ensure the major change activities in the FCO are coherent, achievable, realise the FCO’s Business Strategy and deliver an agreed set of benefits which make the organisation more effective and efficient.

Finance Committee

The purpose of the Finance Committee is to take a corporate view of all FCO finance matters, apart from investment. The Finance Committee is responsible for preparing for Board Discussion, making recommendations to the Board and ensuring implementation of Board decisions on finance issues.

Human Resources Committee

The purpose of the HR Committee is to take a corporate view of the Department's Human Resource policies and operations, to ensure that they contribute as effectively as possible to the delivery of the Department's business needs.  The Committee has members based both in London and overseas  to provide a balanced user perspective on proposed policies.

Estates Committee

The Estates Committee exists to support the FCO Board, and to work with Estates and Security Directorate and other parts of the organisation, in the oversight and delivery of the Estates Strategy and the management of the FCO’s worldwide estate, ensuring value for money.

IT Committee

The Information Technology Committee exists to support the FCO Board, and to work with Information & Technology Directorate and other parts of the organisation, in the oversight and delivery of the Information & Technology Strategy and the management of the FCO’s worldwide communications
