In 2009-10, the Overseas Territories Programme Fund spent £6.4 million in support of a wide range of projects across the Overseas Territories. Examples were; building a police station on Tristan da Cunha, disaster management exercises in Montserrat, establishing a marine protected area in the Southern Oceans and environmental education programmes in the British Virgin Islands.
The Fund supports projects in the UK's Overseas Territories of Anguilla, Ascension, Bermuda, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Montserrat, Pitcairn, St Helena, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, Tristan da Cunha and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The Programme's ring-fenced allocation of £500,000 for the Overseas Territories Environment Programme covers all Overseas Territories including the Sovereign Base Areas of Cyprus and Gibraltar.
