Heritage is GREAT Britain

1. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is the world’s longest serving Queen, celebrating her Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

2. Britain is home to three of the top five museums and galleries in the world.

3. Britain is home to eight Heritage cities and 14 Roman walled cities. Edinburgh City centre is a UNESCO heritage site and is home to the Edinburgh Festival.

4. From Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London to the castles of Cardiff, Cawdor, Edinburgh and Windsor, Britain boasts some of the finest historic buildings in the world.

5. Shakespeare may have died nearly 400 years ago but his work has just found a new home in two newly opened state-of-the-art theatres in Stratford, while London has rebuilt the Globe Theatre, where many of his plays were first performed.
