New Year honours

New Year Honours are published each year normally on the last Saturday in December.  They reflect and pay tribute to oustanding achievement and service.  Their service will have been of direct benefit to the United Kingdom or reflected great credit on the United Kingdom.

A key aim has been to reward those people who have made a significant contribution, or who have given outstanding service to others in difficult situations.

This is the Diplomatic Service and Overseas List for 2008.
