Strategic Programme Fund (formerly Global Opportunities Fund)
The Global Opportunities Fund - now the Strategic Programme Fund - was established in 2003. In 2006-2007 four more programmes were added: Afghan Counter-Narcotics, Drugs and Crime, Overseas Territories and the Migration Programmes.
These worked alongside the six existing programmes – Climate Change and Energy, Counter Terrorism, Economic Governance, Engaging with the Islamic World, Reuniting Europe and Sustainable Development - to deliver almost 950 projects.
