Working with external organisations

We work with a number of organisations and charities outside of the FCO on diversity issues:

Stonewall

Stonewall [opens a new website] is a charity which works towards equality and justice for lesbians, gay men and bisexuals. We are a member of Stonewall's Diversity Champions programme, a good practice forum in which employers can work with Stonewall to promote lesbian, gay and bisexual equality in the workplace.

Opportunity Now

Opportunity Now [opens a new website] is a membership organisation for employers who are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for women.

We take part in the Opportunity Now benchmarking survey which is a chance for employers to take stock of their progress. It measures development over a set period and gives a snapshot of where employers stand in comparison to their peers.  In 2006 the FCO achieved ‘gold’ status.

Working Families

Working Families [opens a new website] is a campaigning charity which helps children, working parents and carers and their employers benefit from a better balance between home and work. We are working with them to pilot a number of workshops aimed at increasing flexible and innovative working styles.

Ian Dodds Consulting

Ian Dodds Consulting [opens a new website] provides expert consultancy on diversity. It is working with the FCO in the global rollout of our new diversity training course Making The Most of Difference.

Brook Graham

Brook Graham [opens a new website] works with organisations to help implement diversity and inclusion strategies and solutions which unlock real business value. We worked with them to develop the Executive Women’s Consortium: an all female 'action learning set' with ten senior executive women from five non-competing companies.
