Chief Minister: Pitcairn’s mayor is Jay Warren, who was elected in December 2004 for a 3-year period.
Administration: The major part of the general administration of Pitcairn is conducted from the Pitcairn Islands Office (PIO) in Auckland, NZ. The PIO is run by a Commissioner appointed by the Governor. The current Commissioner is Mr Leslie Jaques.
National Day: 23 January - Bounty Day. This commemorates the day in 1790 when HMS Bounty was scuppered.
