The Festival of Eid Al-Fitr is the three day festival that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Muslims in the UK and around the world have been marking the month by spending the daylight hours fasting.
The reception was an opportunity for the Foreign Secretary to build new relationships and cement established ones with a wide range of representatives from the British Muslim community and is an indication of the importance the Foreign Office and the UK Government places on engagement with British Muslim communities.
